BARBOX
BarBox is an automated cocktail machine developed by Steffan Arends, an engineer and inventor from Rüthi, Switzerland. The system was originally created as a technical project during his training as a polymechanic and demonstrates how engineering and creativity can transform traditional bar experiences.
The machine is designed to mix cocktails automatically by storing multiple ingredients inside the system and dispensing them through a series of pumps in precise quantities. With this setup, the BarBox can prepare more than 55 different cocktails while ensuring consistent quality and repeatable results.
Developed with around 1200 hours of work, the project highlights Steffan Arends passion for engineering, problem-solving, and innovative product design. The BarBox was presented at the Swiss national youth research competition “Schweizer Jugend forscht,” where it gained attention as an example of practical technological innovation.
